Siding
James Hardie® Fiber Cement
The Pacific Northwest's most trusted siding brand. We're an authorized James Hardie dealer stocking the full product line — HardiePlank, HardiePanel, HardieShingle, HardieTrim, HardieSoffit, and ColorPlus®.
Why James Hardie®
Built for the Pacific Northwest
Fiber cement outperforms wood, vinyl, and composite siding in every climate — especially the wet, freeze-thaw cycles of Oregon and Washington.
Won't Rot or Warp
Fiber cement doesn't absorb water. It won't swell, crack, or rot — even after years of Oregon rain. Woodpeckers and insects can't damage it either.
Fire Resistant
Non-combustible and Class 1A fire rated. James Hardie products are a smart choice in wildland-urban interface (WUI) zones and near brush or trees.
30-Year Warranty
James Hardie products carry a 30-year non-prorated limited product warranty. ColorPlus® pre-finished products add a 15-year finish warranty on top of that.
Looks Like Wood
The Cedarmill texture is a spot-on replica of natural cedar grain. From the street, no one can tell it's not wood — except it looks better and lasts longer.
Real Homes. Real Results.

Installation
Key Installation Requirements
James Hardie products require specific installation practices to maintain the product warranty. These are the most common ones to know before you start.
Clearances
Maintain a minimum 2" clearance between the bottom of the siding and any horizontal surface (grade, deck, or concrete). Keep 1" clearance from drip edges, flashing, and roofing.
Fasteners
Use only corrosion-resistant fasteners — hot-dipped galvanized or stainless steel nails/screws. Standard bright steel fasteners will rust and stain the siding.
Caulking
Use only Hardie-approved paintable caulks at all butt joints and trim intersections. Standard silicone caulks are not compatible and can void the warranty.
Priming & Painting
All field-cut ends must be primed before installation. Paint within 180 days of installation for primed product. ColorPlus® products are pre-finished and require no additional painting.
Complete installation instructions are available at jameshardie.com. Ask our staff for the current Hardie Installation Guide — we keep printed copies at the counter.
